Chris and Caroline Richey installed a solar array on the roof of their Westerville home this year. To save money and increase their return on investment, the Richey's opted for a lightweight solar laminate that cost very little to ship and didn't require mounting hardware. This 3kW systems is estimated to save the homeowners 4000kwH of electricity per year.
In addition to solar panels, the Richey's have
incorporated other energy efficient and conservation strategies in their
home, including: -GE GeoSpring Heat Pump Water Heater -CFL and LED Lighting -60 Gallon Rain Barrel with Underground Garden Drip Irrigation -Composter
The Richey home will be open to tour attendees on Saturday, October 2nd between 10am and 1pm.
