West-Camp Press is a full-service printing company in Westerville, OH.  West-Camp is committed to leading the industry in environmental consciousness and demonstrated that last year when they partnered with Westerville Electric to become one of the locations for The Westerville Smart Grid and Solar Pilot Project.

These sites, which also include the Westerville Planning & Development building, Safex Training Center and Johnson Controls, have installed 3.5 kW solar arrays and GridPoint Connect energy management appliances, which connect Westerville Electric to each site and allow the users to monitor and control the solar power production.

The Westerville Smart Grid and Solar Pilot Project sites are being studied to determine how to best design, install, inspect, size, fund, use and operate the system in a municipal power utility, with grant funding from American Public Power Association and the City of Westerville. The desired outcome is to provide some Westerville power needs from local solar production and intelligent load control and load shifting and therefore eliminate adding to the purchases of power from the grid and existing sources as the city grows.

Come talk to West-Camp about how they are working to make the energy-intensive printing process more efficient.  While you are there, ride a scissor lift to see the roof-mounted solar panels and stay to visit with area green businesses and organizations.

West-Camp is the location of the Westerville Solar and Energy Efficiency Tour Expo which will feature environmentally-friendly businesses and organizations.  Stop by a see products to make your life greener and learn more about ways to lessen your impact on the earth.
